INFORMATION SYSTEMS (IS) [master of Computer Science in EPCC-UEx]: the second promotion beginning

IS is given in the master of Computer Science in the Polytechnic School of the University of Extremadura in Cáceres. This subject has 45 theorical hours and 15 practical with only one teacher (Pablo Gª Rguez). The course has 15 weeks and each week has 3 theorical hours and 1 practical (Thursday from 17:30 to 21:30). This course 2011-12 is about to start the second promotion (second semester).

Brief description of contents:

A previous basic knowledge in databases and programming is needed from the student in this subject. IS are introduced gradually adding more advanced aspects from two different viewpoints, one low-level and other applications. The concepts and techniques associated with IS also from a functional perspective, specifying in contexts such as spatial and geographical databases. On the other hand, more advanced aspects such as integration with ERPs, the MIR (Multimedia Information Retrieval) and development tools software for mobile phones and tablets will be treated.
